Looks like I've gone viral...
The FB post I put up on Thursday of me starting my bluebird has had 3.6k views. Who would have thought...
Yes we are safely here in Grevbo Sweden at Jorgen's home. The weather is cool and a little showery however when the sun comes out it is quite warm. It seems more cloud than sun this summer in Sweden. But a drop or two of rain will not stop us and so yesterday we took a very pleasant scenic ride to visit Pink Panther (Peter) a friend of Jorgen's and an Indian enthusiast about 160kms North East away.
Peter lives in a museum - well his house was built before Captain Cook even thought of sailing to Terra Australis and the interior is still mostly as it was back in the 19th century. The house is classified under the Swedish "National Trust" and effectively it cannot be altered. So Peter and his wife are the custodians of a very beautiful and historic property. We had coffee and black currant pie (home grown berries) and the Pink Panther gave me a tour. Hence the title of today's post - arsenic was used to colour wall paper and one of the upper story rooms was covered in this most intensely coloured decorative blue wallpaper.
On the way home we stopped at a junk yard full of old cars and machinery - a good photo opportunity for the bikes.
Today we will pack our bags and load the van in readiness for our early start on the road to Lubeck Germany via the Long Bridge from Malmö to Copenhagen, then the ferry from Rodby to Puttgarden to our first night's stop. Monday we will travel to Yerseke NL to Karalien's where we will stay for a couple of days till we take the ferry from the Hook of Holland to Harwich England.
Fun, fun, fun!
